My Cancer Navigator is reinforced with the appointment of Annes Valckenaers
Brussels – The Anticancer Fund is expanding the team of My Cancer Navigator, our service dedicated to informing cancer patients about therapy options. Annes Valckenaers joins the team as junior research manager.
Annes Valckenaers recently graduated from the KU Leuven (Belgium), and has a Master in Biomedical Sciences. She will strengthen the team of My Cancer Navigator, our information service for people with cancer, their relatives, and caregivers.
Annes will support the team as a junior research manager and will look up scientific publications and medical guidelines, among others, about cancer therapies. The evidence-based information she will gather, will be given to cancer patients who reached out to My Cancer Navigator with specific questions about their treatment options.
I look forward to providing information to people with cancer so that they can better understand their disease and treatment, enabling them to make informed decisions, says Annes.
The Anticancer Fund is very pleased to have Annes on board. Annes first joined our organisation as an intern in 2021, followed by a student job in 2021 and again in 2022. We are happy to leverage the start of her career by offering her a full-time job.
Our service My Cancer Navigator is growing and more patients benefit from it. We expand our team to reach even more patients in the future. We know Annes as a student and intern and are convinced that she will fit in the team perfectly, says Guy Buyens, medical director of the Anticancer Fund.
