My Cancer Navigator featured in a podcast by Delphine Rémy
BRUSSELS - My Cancer Navigator takes center stage in a podcast produced by Delphine Rémy, renowned for her work on ‘Naître princesse, devenir guerrière’. The podcast, conducted in French, delves into the core features and benefits of our information service for cancer patients. Listeners will hear from Gilles Van der Spek, who candidly shares his journey and highlights the impact My Cancer Navigator has had on his experience.
We are thrilled to announce that My Cancer Navigator is the central theme of an engaging podcast hosted by Delphine Rémy. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, Delphine has been an advocate for fellow patients since then. She is author of the book ‘Cancer ? Je gère !’ and the inspiring force of a support group for cancer patients. In 2021, she launched a podcast series, entitled ‘Naître princesse, devenir guerrière’.
In this episode, Delphine interviews Dr Gabry Kuijten, Director Patient Information, and Saar Sinnaeve, Communication Manager of the Anticancer Fund, along with a special guest, Gilles Van der Spek. Together, they explore how cancer patients can benefit from engaging with My Cancer Navigator, when dealing with the challenges of the disease and various treatment options.
Delphine Rémy: "The announcement of cancer often triggers a physical and emotional tsunami. You receive a bunch of information in such a short time. Sometimes everything is clear, sometimes it's challenging to understand all the details. Personally, I didn't grasp much at the beginning. No matter how many times they repeated my type of cancer and everything that was going to happen, I felt like I had the biggest attention deficit in the whole world, I just couldn’t remember anything that was explained by the health professionals. That's where My Cancer Navigator can come in and be an extraordinary support."
Gilles Van der Spek: “I always say: life can hand you a cactus, but you don’t have to sit on it. As a patient, you need to take control of your illness, to understand where you’re headed. Of course, we don’t always have the insights or knowledge, and the Anticancer Fund can provide you reliable information through My Cancer Navigator.”
