Description of your role as Associate Director

You are passionate about making a difference in the fight against cancer and keen on playing a key role in the mission of the Anticancer Fund.

In partnership with the Managing Director, you ensure the coherence between the different entities, support the fundraising efforts and establish further partnerships to guarantee the financial sustainability of our organisation. Our office is in Meise, in the Brussels region.

Main responsibilities:

  1. Head of the operational entities  

Act as a mentor and bring expertise to the supporting teams: finance, communication, HR and facilities.

Accountability for the budget and monitoring of the cashflow in line with the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Ensuring the financial sustainability of the organisation through establishing new partnerships with external stakeholders, without neglecting our existing partnerships. 

Work closely with the communication manager to create and execute strategies to ensure a growing brand awareness.

  1. Organisational growth  

Network and represent the organisation at conferences, workshops, and public events.  

Contribute in the planning of the long-term strategy according to the organisation’s mission and the Board’s objectives.

Make process improvement suggestions when issues arise. 

Monitor own performance and seek ways to improve quality and efficiency.

Your ideal profile

Master's degree in Life Sciences or Medicine with preferably additional education in Public Health, Business Development/Administration. Experience in related fields or relevant jobs are considered equal.

More than 10 years of relevant experience.

Understanding of cancer-related issues, patient support, and the healthcare landscape.

Strong people and communication skills. Capable of taking clear decisions to implement the strategy in the organisation. Decisive yet charismatic.
