“Re-Innovating Cancer Treatment: tapping into the Potential of Re-purposed Drugs”
Various existing medicines commonly used for non-cancer diseases have shown promise for the treatment of cancer, in terms of costs, time efficiency and effectiveness. However, some obstacles, such as regulatory challenges and insufficient clinical research, still stand in their way.
Pending barriers and much more will be discussed with Mr Alojz Peterle MEP, Ms Lieve Wierinck MEP and other relevant stakeholders aiming to explore together new cost-effective solutions to cancer treatment and raise awareness of the promise and value of drug repurposing for the benefit of cancer patients in Europe.
You are invited to contribute to the roundtable debate, co-hosted by the MEPs Against Cancer Group, at the European Parliament, in Room JAN 6Q1. You will have the opportunity to engage in a high-level discussion on innovative policy actions which can help overcome the barriers and unlock the potential of drug repurposing to meet the needs of patients, including children.
A networking reception will follow the event.
27th of February –17:00 to 18:30 pm.
