The Anticancer Fund is available during the corona crisis and remains fully committed to its mission of helping cancer patients. If you have specific questions about your disease or treatment options, feel free to contact us.

How can you reach us?

Our scientists work from home, as the Belgian government recommended, but we are at your disposal by mail and by phone.

What about my cancer treatment?

We are aware that people with cancer might be worried about their ongoing treatment.

Allow us first of all to underscore that it is of utmost importance that you comply with local recommendations of your government to stop the spread of the virus.

We encourage patients with practical and logistic questions about follow-up appointments, treatment sessions, and the continuation of care when participating in a clinical trial, to contact their doctor or treating team first. If not successful, don’t hesitate to contact us.

I’m a cancer patient, how can I deal with the corona virus?

What we do to fight the corona virus

The Anticancer Fund doesn’t isolate itself from reality, although it is dedicated to cancer patients and cancer research. Our physicians have put themselves on the voluntary lists to help nearby hospitals and residential care centres if needed. Our clinical research director Gauthier Bouche, as an expert in drug repurposing, is joining people from the government, the responsible authorities and scientists to discuss clinical trials that might lead to a solution to treat infections with the corona virus. In all these trials existing drugs for other indications (HIV, malaria, rheumatoid arthritis, etc…) are now tested for their effect on the virus and the respiratory problems associated with it.
