Comprehensive book on drug repurposing and cancer therapy

Brussels - Newly published: a comprehensive book on drug repurposing and cancer therapy, with an introductory chapter by the team of the Anticancer Fund.

Leading academic publisher the Academic Press, an imprint of Elsevier, has published a  book looking at the field of drug repurposing for cancer therapy. Edited by Kenneth To and William Cho, the book 'Drug Repurposing in Cancer Therapy - Approaches and Applications', provides a wide-ranging view of this emerging field. Experts explain the essentials of drug repurposing and provide comprehensive information on how existing drugs should be further investigated, as they might be used to treat cancer.

The opening chapter, entitled 'Drug Repurposing for Cancer Therapy - an introduction', from the Anticancer Fund provides an overview of repurposing and how it can be applied to the problem of taking non-cancer drugs and reusing them as part of cancer treatment.

Other chapters describe different methods of finding candidate drugs, the experience in different cancer types, combining repurposed drugs with immunotherapy and other relevant topics.  

Cancer researchers, oncologists, pharmacologists and other members of biomedical field who are interested in learning more about the use of existing drugs for different purposes in cancer therapy will find this book to be a valuable resource.
