  • Bert Aertgeerts

    Prof. Bert Aertgeerts is a professor at the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U Leuven). He is one of the founding members of the Belgian Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine and is a member of the Belgium Royal Academy of Medicine. He is also head of the Academic Centre for General Practice at the KU Leuven.





  • Marc Bracke

    Prof. Marc Bracke is a medical doctor who specialises in clinical biology and heads the Laboratory of Experimental Cancer Research at the University of Ghent. As  an independent advisor Professor Bracke is a member of the scientific councils of the Stichting tegen de Kanker (Foundation Against Cancer), the Vlaamse Liga tegen Kanker (Flemish League Against Cancer), the Bijzonder Onderzoeksfonds (Special Research Foundation) of the University of Ghent and the Anticancer Fund.



  • Robert A. Gatenby

    Dr Robert A. Gatenby is chairman of the Department of Radiology and co-director of the Department of Integrated Mathematical Oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. He joined Moffitt in 2008 from the University of Arizona where he held professorships in the Departments of Radiology and Applied Mathematics from 2000.





  • Jan Geissler

    Jan Geissler is Director of the European Patients' Academy (EUPATI) as well as Patvocates in Germany. He is founder of the patient platform, co-founder of the European Cancer Patient Coalition and co-founder of the global CML Advocates Network in 67 countries. He acts in various advisory boards e.g. of ESMO, ECCO and the European Commission.





  • Guy Storme

    Prof. Guy Storme heads the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology at the University Hospital Brussels. He co-founded the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) as well as the Belgian Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (BVRO). Prof. Storme is also a member of a wide range of academic organisations.





  • Bettina Ryll

    Dr Bettina Ryll, PhD is a postdoctoral researcher in Evolutionary Developmental Biology at Uppsala University in Sweden. She co-founded M-ICAB, a patient-led platform for the melanoma community, established the Peter Schoonjans Research Fund and founded the Melanoma Patient Network Europe.





  • Vidula Sukhatme

    Vidula Sukhatme is co-founder and CEO of GlobalCures, an organisation that conducts clinical trials on promising therapies for cancer not being pursued for lack of profitability.  She holds an MS in mathematics from Northeastern University and an MS in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health.





  • Vikas Sukhatme

    Prof. Vikas Sukhatme is Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, the US. He is also Chief Academic Officer and Harvard Faculty Dean of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Together with his wife, Vidula Sukhatme, he founded GlobalCures, a Boston-based non-profit organisation.





  • Eric Van Cutsem

    Prof. Eric Van Cutsem is Professor of Internal Medicine at the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U.  Leuven) and heads the Digestive Oncology department at the University Hospital Gasthuisberg in Leuven. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). He leads many national and international translational research projects involving gastrointestinal cancer.




  • Joris Verlooy

    Dr. Joris Verlooy (MD) is a pediatric oncologist and hematologist at the Antwerp University Hospital (UZA), Belgium. He is a Senior staff member of the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology department of UZA in Antwerp. Joris is also a docent at the Artevelde Hogeschool Gent and at the Karel de Grote Hogeschool Antwerpen. His interests include pediatric neuro-oncology, pediatric palliative care, and pain and comfort policies for children.
